Forget Butter and Cream Cheese

Forget butter or cream cheese on your bread. If you are going to spread fat, spread this stuff. Don’t get me wrong. I love cream cheese on my bagel and butter on just about anything but this is a good alternative to your usual spread.

According to Dr. Gourmet, This is so high in the good fats and virtually no saturated fat. And there is so much more flavor! I just had to make one!

I had a bunch of fresh basil from my little herb garden.

Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes, capers, garlic, green olives, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Toss into the food processor.



Top it on my french baguette…Mmmmmm, yum, yum! That quick and easy!

Who says eating healthy shouldn’t taste this good?

Sun-dried Tomatoes and Olives Tapenade

  • 3 sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup kalamata olives, pitted
  • 1/2 cup green olives, pitted
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1-2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • a bunch of fresh basil leaves
  • 1 1/2 tsp parmesan cheese

In the food processor, chop garlic and sun-dried tomatoes. Toss in the other ingredients and pulse a few times until you get the consistency you want. I like mine just minced, not paste. Season with salt and pepper.
